Masterplan to guide restorative community development in neighborhoods and communities impacted by the Urban Renewal construction of the Innerbelt highway connector that displaced hundreds of families and demolished key retail corridors in Akron’s Black community.
Ideas and Action led market and real estate development feasibility analysis, funding assessment and strategies, implementation stakeholder mapping and engagement, and the plan’s policy and program recommendations for housing, workforce development, small business support, and community services. Ideas and Action provided technical assistance and materials to support existing conditions analysis and community engagement, working with the project team to turn broad community goals into actionable objectives, real estate projects, programs and policy recommendations. Ideas and Action worked closely with City Staff and local partners to identify specific actions for implementation and opportunities for collaboration to leverage existing capacity and resources.
